AAERI wants Australia’s student visas linked to the institution

The Association of Australian Education Representatives in India (AAERI) has urged the government to link student visas to the institution of initial payment. The association also proposed that students need to submit a new visa application if there is any change in course or institution.

A statement from AAERI says that the proposed reform means that student visas would be linked to the institution and mentioned in the initial CoE. If a student wants to change the course or institution, they must obtain a new CoE from the new institution and apply for a new student visa. This will automatically cancel the existing student visa.

The statement added that this proposed reform is to strengthen the integrity of Australia’s student visa program and reduce exploitation in the education sector.
